The panel that arrives at the show finished

A raw panel has to be painted, and in exhibition work that almost always happens in the worst possible place: in the hall, at night, with other trades around you and the opening in the morning. The lacquered panel PLA solves that beforehand: it leaves Fontanelle in the specified colour and on site there is nothing to do but assemble it.

Spraying is done in-house, in our own paint shop. That is not an organisational footnote: the panel and its finish go through the same quality check, a colour is the same colour months later, and when a top-up or a repair is needed at short notice we are not waiting on a subcontractor.

Colours, finishes and colour consistency

We spray any RAL colour, gloss or matt. In exhibition work whites and neutral greys are the most requested; the interesting work starts when a brand colour is involved — if your client has a house RAL or a Pantone, we work to it.

Two pieces of advice we always give. First, on recurring stands, fix the colour on the first order and quote the code on the repeats — that is the only way the colour stays identical across several editions. Second, on large areas and dark shades, choose matt. Gloss on a continuous wall gives back every spotlight and every fingerprint, and there are fingerprints from day one.

You can also have only the visible faces sprayed and leave the hidden ones raw: a perfectly legitimate way to save money — as long as it is a decision made at order stage and not a discovery made in the hall.

Lacquer or laminate — when each is worth it

Laminate on both faces is ready to use, costs less than lacquer and comes in white, black and the catalogue shades: the right call when the colour you want is on the list and the surface does not have to do anything special.

Lacquer is what you need when the colour is specific — a house RAL, a shade the designer chose — or when the surface itself matters: depth of colour, evenness, sheen level. On an image stand, in a showroom or in a museum you can see the difference from a metre away.

In numbers the comparison is blunt: 3000 × 1000 in white laminate is €62.80, the same panel lacquered is €154.80. The right question is not which is cheaper, but how many times that panel will be rebuilt and how much the colour matters to the project.

Availability, special sizes and delivery

Standard sizes are always in stock. We normally ship within 7 days of order confirmation and in practice almost always sooner: in exhibition work the enquiry arrives from one day to the next, and we are set up for that.

For deliveries outside Italy we agree the build-up slot, the customs paperwork where it applies and the transport documents with you in advance.
