We have been pressing hollow-core panels in our own plant at Fontanelle, in the province of Treviso, since 1987. Cutting, frame assembly, pressing, edging and lacquering all happen under one roof. Nothing is subcontracted, which is why an answer about a non-standard size or an unusual finish reaches you the same day, from the people who would actually make it.
Looking for a general-purpose board rather than a stand wall? See lightweight wood panels. Moving from a shell scheme to your own stand? Start with shell scheme vs space only.
Our customers are stand builders, exhibition contractors, agencies, joineries and furniture manufacturers across Italy and the European Union. We do not build stands ourselves — we supply the timber part — so we are never in competition with the companies that buy from us.
A hollow-core panel is a sandwich: a perimeter frame in finger-jointed solid timber, a lightweight honeycomb core, and two facings bonded under press. That structure is what makes the panel light, dimensionally stable and — the point most people miss — survivable at dismantling, which is what decides whether a stand can be reused.
Finger-jointed solid timber. It carries the fixings, keeps the panel square and lets the edges be worked without exposing the core.
A paper honeycomb structure that fills the panel without weight. It is what allows a 6-metre element to still be handled by two people.
40 and 50 mm. The 50 mm is used where the span is long or where loads will be hung from the surface.
Continuous walls with no visible joints. On a branded back wall this is the difference between a backdrop and a row of panels.
Blocks positioned inside the panel exactly where screens, shelves or heavy graphics will be fixed. It must be specified at order stage.
Radii produced in the factory rather than forced on site. Curves are what separate a designed stand from an assembled one.
| Situation | Recommended version | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Standard dividing walls, straight runs | 40 mm, raw or laminated | Lightest and most economical option; the frame keeps it square across repeated builds. |
| Screens, shelves or heavy graphics fixed to the wall | 50 mm with internal reinforcement | The load has to reach solid timber, not honeycomb. Reinforcement is positioned in production. |
| Long unsupported spans or full-height walls | 50 mm | Rigidity, not strength, is the limiting factor: a panel that flexes reads as a defect. |
| Brand colour to be matched exactly | RAL lacquered | A RAL code is reproducible; a film or a wrap only approximates it. |
| Stand to be reused across several editions | 40/50 mm with framed edges | Panels dismantled sensibly are reusable. Separate reusable structure from disposable customisation at design stage. |
| Venue requiring certified reaction to fire | Fire-rated version | Specific materials and documentation that must travel with the goods, because it is needed at project approval. |
Besides the factory in Italy we run a warehouse in Waalwijk, in the south of the Netherlands, holding thousands of raw panels in standard sizes, ready to ship. From there Amsterdam RAI is about 100 km, Antwerp 90 km, Düsseldorf 150 km, and the Hook of Holland–Harwich ferry 95 km: shorter runs and lower freight costs for UK, Irish, Benelux and German stands. Made-to-measure, RAL lacquer and special versions still ship from Fontanelle, on the same quotation.

To quote we need five things: quantities and sizes for each panel type, thickness (40 or 50 mm), finish — raw, laminated, or lacquered with the RAL code — whether reinforcements are needed and where, and the delivery date. If you work from a cutting list or a component schedule, send that: it is faster than any description. Written quotation within 24 working hours.
We deliver throughout Italy and the European Union, either to the exhibition venue within your build-up window or to a holding warehouse if you prefer to pre-assemble. The critical date is rarely the delivery — it is the order: in peak season production weeks fill up, and a lacquering cycle cannot be compressed. If the design is approved, send it even months ahead; reserving a production slot costs nothing.
On reaction to fire: venue technical regulations require certified materials and the conditions vary from one event to another. Check the regulation for your show and tell us which class is required — we produce the fire-rated versions and the documentation ships with the goods.
The whole range — standard and laminated panels, low walls, curved and mirror panels, folding columns, electric and display panels, ceiling panels, planters, stand and panic doors, tiles, platforms, cabinets and reception desks — is in the 2026 catalogue, to browse online, with photos, technical drawings, junctions and panel weights.
Each family has its own data sheet with sizes, finishes, net 2026 price-list prices and the cases where it makes sense.

Four questions that decide the budget more often than the choice of finish — and two of them are specific to the UK and Ireland:
Shell scheme is a room you rent, space only a plot you build on — plus the height trick most exhibitors miss.
Fire regulationsYour manual may still ask for BS 476 Class 1. The regulations moved to Euroclass — and the two do not convert.
FreightIreland is in the EU with no customs step. Great Britain is not — and the ATA Carnet everyone asks about is usually wrong.
BudgetThe crossover counts in builds, not square metres — and the customs step moves it earlier in Britain.
Yes. Our warehouse in Waalwijk, in the Netherlands, holds thousands of raw honeycomb panels in standard sizes for the UK, Ireland, the Benelux and western Germany. Made-to-measure and special versions ship from our factory in Fontanelle.
Directly. We are the manufacturer: panels leave our plant at Fontanelle (TV) and reach you without a commercial intermediary. When you ask whether a size or an operation is possible, the answer comes from the people who would carry it out.
Forty and fifty millimetres, in lengths up to 6 metres, plus reinforced, curved and fire-rated versions. The 6-metre length is what allows continuous walls with no visible joints on a branded backdrop.
Yes, but the internal reinforcement has to be specified at order stage and positioned exactly where the fixings will go. Adding it afterwards means working on a finished panel, and the result shows. Send us the drawing with the load points.
We produce versions with certified reaction to fire. The class required depends on the technical regulation of the individual event: check it, tell us which class applies, and the documentation will travel with the material so it is available at project approval.
Yes, if they are dismantled sensibly — the perimeter frame is what lets a panel survive dismantling. On a recurring stand it pays to design an abacus of standard reusable elements plus a small amount of disposable customisation. Across three editions the difference is substantial.
Yes, throughout the European Union, either to the venue within your build-up window or to a holding warehouse. Tell us the delivery date when you request the quotation, not afterwards: it determines whether the production slot is realistic.
No, and we say so up front. We manufacture the timber part — panels, walls, platforms and doors. The stand itself is built by the contractor, who is our typical customer. That is precisely why we are never in competition with the companies that buy from us.
Send us quantities, sizes, thickness, finish and delivery date — or simply your component schedule. Written quotation within 24 working hours.
