A lighter way to build a custom stand at Dubai World Trade Centre: ready-made wall panels, doors and platforms that go up dry, come down clean and are used again at the next show.
In much of the Gulf a custom stand is still built as one-off carpentry: timber studs clad in plywood or MDF, filled, painted and very often skipped when the show closes. It works, but it costs workshop days before every show, heavy trucks into the hall and a great deal of waste.
A honeycomb panel (also called a hollow-core panel) is a finished wall element: a frame in knot-free finger-jointed spruce, a perforated honeycomb core and two MDF skins bonded under press. It weighs a fraction of a solid wall of the same size, stays flat, joins to the next panel with alignment strips and I·L·T·X connectors, and after the show it is stacked and stored for the next build. In Europe it has been the standard for custom stands for decades; in Dubai it is still an advantage for the builders who adopt it first.
| Site-built timber and plywood wall | Honeycomb panel system | |
|---|---|---|
| Workshop time before the show | Build and paint every wall | Panels arrive finished or ready to wrap |
| Build-up in the hall | Carpentry on site | Dry assembly with connectors |
| Weight on truck and rigging | Heavy | Light: a fraction of a solid wall |
| After the show | Often scrapped | Stacked, stored and reused |
| Fire documentation | Depends on each sheet bought | Supplied with the fire-rated finish |

GITEX Global has moved to Dubai Exhibition Centre at Expo City (7–11 December 2026): see honeycomb panels for Expo City Dubai.
Dates as published by the organisers in September 2026. Always check the official show website before planning freight.
Dubai changes the planning, not the product. We manufacture in Fontanelle, in the province of Treviso; standard sizes are in stock and normally ship within 7 days of order confirmation. From there the variable is freight: sea freight to Jebel Ali is counted in weeks, air freight in budget. For a first stock of panels that will stay in Dubai and be reused show after show, sea freight is the obvious choice; air freight is for the order that cannot wait.
Dubai is outside the EU customs union: we issue the export declaration and commercial documents, and the import is cleared by your consignee or clearing agent — the UAE applies a standard 5% duty on the CIF value plus 5% VAT. Tell us the consignee and the agent at order stage and we prepare the paperwork around them. Delivery is to your workshop or warehouse in Dubai, or to the venue through your forwarder.
Fire documentation needs the same foresight: decide the fire-rated finish before the container is loaded, not when the venue asks for the certificate. See certificates and documentation.

Standard sizes are in stock and normally ship within 7 days of order confirmation. Sea transit to Jebel Ali and customs clearance come on top, so plan backwards from the build-up date.
Yes, with the fire-performance documentation supplied at no extra cost. Doors, platforms and lacquered panels are available fire-rated too.
Yes — that is the point of the system. Panels are stacked and stored after the show and reused for the next build, so the freight is paid once.
Yes, we make to measure, including single pieces, with no surcharge for non-standard sizes: you pay the price of the next standard size up.
Send us the plan, the sizes and the quantities: we reply with a written quote, normally within 24 working hours, in English, French, German or Italian.
