Columns give a stand its vertical: totems, corners, wayfinding, supports for signage. The problem is that a column is by definition a volume: it takes up space in the store all year and space in the van at every show — and transport is charged on volume before weight.
The folding columns resolve that contradiction: they open in position and fold flat for transport. At the show they are a full architectural volume; in the van they are flat panels. On a stand that travels to several shows in a season, the saving on transport and storage adds up edition after edition — and on a show abroad it pays for itself quickly.
The folding columns are also available mirrored, and that is the combination that makes them most recognisable: a mirrored column multiplies the hall light and the perceived depth of the stand without taking another square metre.
The same advice applies as on the mirror panels page: the surface shows marks, so plan a daily clean, and use the mirror as an accent rather than as blanket cladding.
