Honeycomb panels · Made in Italy

Lightweight wood panels

A lightweight board that still takes screws, hinges and loads: a solid finger-jointed timber frame, a honeycomb core and MDF faces. We make them in Fontanelle (Treviso) for exhibition stand builders, shopfitters and furniture makers, in stock sizes or cut to your drawing.

What makes a lightweight board work

Solid timber frame

A perimeter frame in finger-jointed timber, so edges take screws, connectors and hinges like solid wood.

Honeycomb core

The core carries the faces and keeps the board flat at a fraction of the weight of solid board.

MDF faces

Smooth faces ready to paint, laminate or lacquer, raw or fire rated.

Long and flat

Up to 6 m long without joints: a wall that one or two people can carry and that stays straight.

Frequently asked questions

What is a lightweight board?

A panel built from a timber frame, a light core (here a honeycomb) and two faces. It behaves like solid board where it matters, at the edges, but weighs far less.

How thick are your lightweight panels?

40 mm as standard, 50 mm on request.

Can I screw into a honeycomb panel?

Yes, into the solid timber frame along the edges, or into reinforced areas placed where you need fixings.

Do you cut to size?

Yes, any size up to 1200 mm wide and 6 m long, from a single panel, at no extra cost.

Are they fire rated?

The fire rated version is MDF to Euroclass B-s1,d0, with certificates on every delivery.
